Jane Diaz
Jane Diaz has been collaborated with Nepalese metal smiths for over 20 years to create a unique hand-made line of designer jewelry. She describes Nepal as a tiny exotic jewel box of shrines, temples and prayer flags. The Nepalese make jewelry the same way their fathers made it, completely by hand. From blocks of pure silver and gold they mill the metal to plates and wires to build this jewelry.
"I've loved working in this place with these people. It's taught me a great deal. It's been a magical relationship to be able to doodle and draw and have these drawings brought to life by these skilled hands. My mission in this place is to keep their crafts alive." - Jane Diaz
Diaz combined her academic background in cultural anthropology and fine arts with her passion for ritual and ornamentation which led to her success as a designer.
